Setting up multiple accounts

Each new client will require a separate account in Syla.

You can easily add new accounts from the quick Account Switcher.

Viewing your client list

You can view all the accounts you have access to from the Accounts page in Syla.

Using client reference codes - Nickname

It's common to assign a unique internal reference code or ID for each client. In Syla, you can enter your client reference code as the account Nickname.

The account Nickname can be set from the Accounts page.

Tip: The Nickname is only viewable by you. Other users on the same Account won't be able to see the Nickname that you've assigned.

Searching for clients

Use the Account Switcher to search for your clients by account name or nickname.

Which client account am I currently viewing?

You can view the current client account you are viewing in the top status bar on from the quick Account Switcher.

This tells you exactly which account you'll be making edits to.

Tip: In Syla, it's absolutely okay to have multiple accounts opened in different browser tabs. This can be really helpful when working across many accounts at the same time, such as reconciling inter-entity transfers.

Inviting clients to the account

If you have an existing account you need to invite your client to:

  1. Switch to the desired account using the Account Switcher.

  2. Go to Settings > Members.

  3. Click the Invite Member button.

  4. Type in the clients email, select the desired Role and click Invite.

Your client will receive an email inviting them to have access to the Account.

Ask a client to invite you to their existing account

If your client already has a Syla account and you need access, ask your client to do the following.

  1. Login to their Syla account.

  2. Go to Settings > Members.

  3. Click the Invite Member button.

  4. Enter <your email address>, set the Role to Accountant, and click Invite.

You will receive an invite giving you access to the client's account.

Team management

If you have multiple team members in your firm, then there are two solutions to collaborating on client accounts:

Option 1: Each team member can sign up to Syla with their own login. You'll then need to invite them to specific Accounts which they need to have access to.

Option 2: Setup a single login for your accounting firm, and share the login details with your other team members.
