How to merge data sources

If you've imported transactions into two separate data sources by mistake, you can easily merge them using Syla’s bulk edit feature.

Updated this week

While the goal is to have a single Data Source per exchange in Syla, you may accidently end up with multiple data sources like in this example:

You can merge two data sources into one using the Bulk Edit feature.

Merge two data sources

1. Navigate to the Transactions page from the left-hand menu.

2. Click the Data Source filter.

3. Select the data source you want to move transactions from.

4. Click the top-left checkbox to select all filtered transactions.

5. Once the transactions are selected, click the Edit button.

6. In the Edit Transactions popup, select Switch Data Source.

7. Select the correct data source you want to move the transactions to.

8. Click Update to apply the change.

9. Now head back to the Data Sources page. You’ll see one of the data sources has 0 transactions, which means the merge was successful. (note: you may need to wait up to a few minutes for Syla to re-calculate after the update).

Delete the empty data source

1. Click the 3-dot menu next to the empty data source.

2. Choose Delete.

That's it! You’ve successfully merged your data sources, keeping things neat, clean, and accurate for tax reporting.
